About Kumo
Kumo was created by two young and ambitious dreamers who grew up in a fast, demanding world, children of immigrant asian parents who came here to work hard and live with purpose. We learned early to chase our dreams with continuous persistence, with aim, force, and intention, more tenaciously than yesterday, and even more tomorrow, every single day, until there’s no breath left in our lungs. We built our lives around movement, around transforming dreams into reality in the corporate world. But somewhere in the midst of all that rush, we realized something simple yet profound, that today matters too. That there is beauty in slowing down, in resting, in being fully present in the moment.
And that’s how Kumo was born, as a reminder that you can live with ambition and still breathe, still taste, still create. Kumo is a space to pause. To let the world slow down for a moment. To enjoy food that nourishes both body and mind, meals that are good for you, but also good to you. Like a collagen smoothie that tastes like a chocolate milkshake, or a comforting dish that brings you back your energy and vitality without guilt or restriction.
Because we believe in balance, the golden middle way, a bit of everything, just enough of what feels right. We were also inspired by our childhoods in Vietnam, days filled with tô tượng, painting small ceramic figures with bright colors and simple joy. That memory stayed with us. And now, it’s here, reimagined for adults, as a mindful, creative moment of calm. A space where art, food, and stillness meet; where you can pick up a brush with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, and let yourself simply be. Kumo is our way of bringing a piece of that childhood wonder, that gentle peace, back into today’s world, for anyone who needs a pause, a taste, or a color to breathe in.
